The Bridge - Movie about people jumping off Golden Gate Bridge!

Here’s a bridge that is infamous for people jumping off, mostly suicide cases.

Jump to 2:03 on the video to see a real “splash” of someone who had just jumped off.

A lot of times, people do live the fall but a lot of times, people will die instant death upon landing or get eaten by sharks.

I can see why they made a movie about it but is it that complicated?  You either die or live, it’s your choice but make sure you have tried your best before jumping off.

The footage of Gene’s family and friends lamenting his death and him walking around despondently on the bridge are teased throughout the movie, along with 10 or so other jumpers and family/friends of. The filmmakers also tease you with average hooligans, daredevils and the overly curious too— sort of a “i bet you thought…” gag that isn’t funny. Every 5-10 minutes they toss in someone jumping off to satisfy the viewers appetite.

Wave Organ San Francisco!

Here’s an interesting site in San Francisco called Wave Organ near Marina.

If you want an unusual escape from the hubbub at San Francisco’s pier attractions, head out to the mysterious Wave Organ. It’s past the St. Francis Yacht Club, at the end of a jetty.

Usually no one is out there, and the jetty offers a pleasant view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and that low part of the city prone to catch on fire after earthquakes. The jetty was constructed from tombstone and monument fragments from a demolished 19th century cemetery. The Wave Organ incorporates some of this ornate — and creepy, if you think about it — stonework into its design.

Casa Verde - Green Home in Mission District!

Casa Verde - Green Home in Mission District!

My dream is to own a green home in San Francisco. Of course, I’d like to own a home near the Golden Gate Bridge where price tag of houses are more than at least $2-3 million.

In the meanwhile, you can enjoy green homes such as this one featured in the Mission District.

Designed by architect John Lum, the building — which includes a main house and an apartment — occupies a 50- by 70-foot corner lot. Lum’s plan maximizes natural light and airflow on each of three levels, with rooms leading off an open, central stairway made of glass and steel. The main living and dining areas and kitchen are on the top floor to take advantage of views across the city. “It’s kind of an upside-down house,” Lum explains. “The public spaces are at the top, and the more private master suite and guest rooms are below.”

But what makes the home truly groundbreaking are the eco-features it incorporates, some of them still in experimental stages. For example, hot water will be provided by rooftop tubes that collect solar energy, says Matt Golden, founder and CEO of Sustainable Spaces and a project consultant. The home’s electricity will come from SunPower solar panels and a wind turbine installed in the backyard — a power source so unusual in San Francisco, the builder had to get a one-year provisional test permit before it could be installed. A high-tech resource-monitoring system will keep tabs on energy and water use.

Lake Merced in San Francisco is a great Jogging Trail!

Lake Merced in San Francisco is a great Jogging Trail!

Lake Merced is perhaps one of the best jogging trails in San Francisco along with the Golden Gate Bridge trail.

I am lucky to live right next to the lake so I jog this 2.5 - 5 mile path everyday.  The jogging path is big too so you can take your baby with you too.

Lake Merced is surrounded by beautiful golf courses such as the Olympic Club and Harding Park GC, both known as one of the best golf courses in the world.

This area of San Francisco is probably the most quiet part of the city, where you can jog and enjoy some scenic views.

Here’s some pictures I took today while jogging:

Coit Tower 1

Coit Tower 2

Coit Tower 3

This is the tower that you will see bulging out of a San Francisco downtown photo. It’s the Coit Tower! On a good day with the bushes cut by the landscapers in time, you have a 360 degree view of San Francisco including the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. If you are in San Francisco, you HAVE to see this. If you are on Lombard Street on the world’s most crooked street, just keep heading straight and you will see signs to the Coit Tower.
