If you’ve noticed, the city has implemented an optional card system for paying for meters as of last year or so.
Now, the city is planning to implement a smart chip that will allow drivers to feed their meter wirelessly using a computer or a cellphone you don’t have to run so much.
Awesome stuff but is it going to cost more of my tax money?
I personally don’t really care for all that wifi junk, I’d rather people run to their meters.
Luckily for San Francisco residents, the city is stepping in to try and help them avoid the parking crunch. As part of a $95.5 million program called SFPark, 6,000 of San Francisco’s 24,000 metered parking spaces are being outfitted with sensors that will allow drivers to spot open parking spaces by checking maps on their cell phones or by looking at displays on street signs.

Well, today was probably one of the hottest weathers in San Francisco.
The best part about San Francisco is that most homes don’t even have air conditioning because it never gets so hot except for 2 or 3 days out of the year like today.
Here’s some simple tips for staying cool and dry over the next couple days:
1. Undress down to your underwear
2. Close all blinds
3. Turn a fan on your window. (On the window I said)
Do these 3 things and you should be able to get through the hot weather nice and easy like me.

If you’ve just moved to San Francisco or just need a new mattress, you need to go check out SF Keetsa mattress store on 271 9th Street. They’ve got these mattresses that are so comfortable yet the prices are so affordable.
Yup, I own the one pictured above, it’s called Pillow Soft. I got a Cal King size and it “comes” in a box.
Check out some of these wild pictures of the mattress (in a box!).
This is the best mattress I ever owned and I don’t care that it’s eco-friendly, I like the fact that it’s comfy.
If you don’t believe me, try this review on Yelp too.

It looks like San Francisco gay activists are declaring independence from the HRC.
This Saturday, July 12 at noon, gay activists in San Francisco will “celebrate independence” from the Human Rights Campaign by giving out rainbow flag stickers in front of the HRC store in the Castro as a “symbol of LGBT liberation.” They encourage former HRC members to cover up their bumper stickers with the rainbows.
The event is in response to HRC’s position of not opposing the gay-only version of ENDA passed by the House last year. It has not yet been introduced in the Senate.

According to sources, home prices in San Francisco are down by 20.2%, the 3rd worst in the country. This is great news for home buyers but probably bad news for home sellers.

If you have just lost your job and you have no insurance, you might be in luck as San Francisco offers one of the best free clinics in the States.
There are a whole bunch of them but I will only list two here:
Haight Ashbury Free Clinics
San Francisco Free Clinic
Remember, you need to have no insurance in order to take advantage of this and you need to be a resident of San Francisco.
Check out one of the comments left about free clinics in SF:
What surprised me the most about my visit to the San Francisco Free Clinic was the amount of paperwork I had to go through; 3 generously spaced pages that mostly required me to sign my name in a number of places. That’s it. It’s a far cry from the nightmare of paperwork you’re required to go over at most hospitals.
The clinic is very comfortable and professional, the staff is extremely friendly, and they gave me a full regime of antibiotics for a sinus infection at no charge. I’m nearly in disbelief that I can get this level of treatment without insurance or a hideous bill. If only the rest of the American health care system could follow suit.

Millenium Tower, is a 60 story residence building that’s currently being built. You might notice it when you drive over Bay Bridge, it’s the tallest building that’s being worked on.
Boy, I’d love to live on the top floor, 59th and 60th floor going for about $12 million each.
Here’s excerpt from Wikipedia:
USD $350 million project is developed by Millennium Partners of New York City and designed by Handel Architects. At 645 ft. (197 m), it will be the fourth tallest building in San Francisco when completed, and the tallest since 345 California Street in 1986. The tower is slender, with each floor containing 14,000 square feet (1,300 m²) of floor space. In addition to the 60-story tower, there is a 125-foot (38 m) 12-story tower on the north end of the complex.[4] Between the two towers is a two-story glass atrium approximately 43 ft. (13 m) tall. In total, the project will have 440 units, consisting of 320 residences and 120 extended-stay hotel units. The residences are said to be the priciest on the West Coast, with penthouse units on floors 59 and 60 selling for around USD$ 12 million. The bottom 25 floors of the main tower will be called Residences while the floors from 26 to 60 will have the name Grand Residences. The 53 units in the 12-story tower will be called the City Residences.Below street level, there will be 355 parking spaces in a four-story underground garage located under the midrise building. Overall, the tower’s design is intended to resemble a translucent crystal, and is a landmark for the Transbay Redevelopment and the southern skyline of San Francisco.

If you want to practice golf, you will have couple choices. You can either goto the Presidio golf course OR Harding Park golf course. Those 2 are probably the best driving ranges in San Francisco plus you can practice your chipping/putting too.
If you want to hit balls at night, you can also check out Cypress Golf Course, which has a roof and night lights, only a 10 minute drive from SF to Colma.
