Gay Marriage Constitutional in California!

State Supreme Court says same-sex couples have right to marry

Just in, gay marriage in California is constitutional and legal. Although I am not gay, as a resident of San Francisco, I applaud and support the gay community for the victory.

This isn’t even about Gay people, this is about the fact that the government is being prejudice because of certain people’s sexual orientation.

The one fact that I love living in San Francisco is the fact that there is more diversity here than any other place in America. You will get to see so many different cultures without having to go to their countries. For example, after I work out, I see these old Russian couples always hanging out by the park. If I go to Chinatown, it’s like being in China. For great Japanese food, I go to an authentic Japanese run by a Japanese sushi chef straight from Japan. I can go on and on about diversity.

San Francisco is the most free place to live in the world period. If you think otherwise, does your state allow gay-marriage?

Hey, we are in America. If this country is truly free like it’s supposed to be, there shouldn’t be limits for people regardless of sex, religion, sexual orientation, etc…etc…

Congrats to the gay community as they will start changing the world starting with San Francisco.

In a 4-3 decision, the justices said the state’s ban on same-sex marriage violates the “fundamental constitutional right to form a family relationship.” The ruling is likely to flood county courthouses with applications from couples newly eligible to marry when the decision takes effect in 30 days.

“The California Constitution properly must be interpreted to guarantee this basic civil right to all Californians, whether gay or heterosexual, and to same-sex couples as well as to opposite-sex couples,” Chief Justice Ronald George wrote in the majority opinion.

Allowing gay and lesbian couples to marry “will not deprive opposite-sex couples of any rights and will not alter the legal framework of the institution of marriage,” George said.
