Funny Note for taking 2 Parking Spaces!

Here’s a funny note left on someone’s car due to the person’s parking job.

Of course, taking 2 parking spaces is a bad idea but sometimes you have to.

What do I mean?

Well, in the last year or so, my car has been banged about 3-4 times because people try to park their big car in a small space.

Once, at the Lincoln Park Golf Course parking lot, a car pretty much banged the shit out of my driver door, only to hit and run.

I still have a really big dent on my driver’s door and I am not fixing it because I know it’s going to happen again.

My advice, if there’s no lines, always take at least 1.5 parking spaces for your car.  Otherwise, people will try to cram their crappy car without giving a fuck about whether they hit yours or not.

Believe me, I have about $5000 in car damages all from people trying to park in 0.8 parking space. :p

(The best way is to leave just enough room about the size of a Mini Cooper on the front and back of your car.  I have been doing this since my driver door got smashed by the unknown SF resident and have had zero dents)

September 19th is a Parking Day!

September 19th is a Parking Day!

September 19th is a Parking Day in San Francisco and other major cities around the country.  It’s basically a day where you can turn “any” parking space into a mobile “park”.

Heck, you can even take police car parking spots on this day.

It looks like San Francisco had the most parks last year so let’s hope we win again this year.

Conceived by REBAR, a San Francisco-based art collective, PARK(ing) Day is a one-day, global event centered in San Francisco where artists, activists, and citizens collaborate to temporarily transform parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks.

SF to get Smarter Parking Spaces

If you’ve noticed, the city has implemented an optional card system for paying for meters as of last year or so.

Now, the city is planning to implement a smart chip that will allow drivers to feed their meter wirelessly using a computer or a cellphone you don’t have to run so much.

Awesome stuff but is it going to cost more of my tax money?

I personally don’t really care for all that wifi junk, I’d rather people run to their meters.

Luckily for San Francisco residents, the city is stepping in to try and help them avoid the parking crunch. As part of a $95.5 million program called SFPark, 6,000 of San Francisco’s 24,000 metered parking spaces are being outfitted with sensors that will allow drivers to spot open parking spaces by checking maps on their cell phones or by looking at displays on street signs.
