f you have just lost your job and you have no insurance, you might be in luck as San Francisco offers one of the best free clinics in the States.

There are a whole bunch of them but I will only list two here:

Remember, you need to have no insurance in order to take advantage of this and you need to be a resident of San Francisco.

What surprised me the most about my visit to the San Francisco Free Clinic was the amount of paperwork I had to go through; 3 generously spaced pages that mostly required me to sign my name in a number of places. That’s it. It’s a far cry from the nightmare of paperwork you’re required to go over at most hospitals.

The clinic is very comfortable and professional, the staff is extremely friendly, and they gave me a full regime of antibiotics for a sinus infection at no charge. I’m nearly in disbelief that I can get this level of treatment without insurance or a hideous bill. If only the rest of the American health care system could follow suit.
